The iLifeChange Experiment

You already know some of what needs to change.

The harder question is why the old life keeps returning.

Most serious people are not short of advice. They know what they should stop, what they should begin, and what kind of person they should become. And yet ordinary life presses back. The phone is picked up again, the difficult conversation is delayed again, the appetite returns again, and the private promise weakens again.

The good is seen, but not chosen with enough force. iLifeChange exists for people who are tired of repeating that pattern.

It is a 40-day live experiment in re-forming motivation from the inside out, by strengthening the highest powers of the mind: reason, imagination, awareness, and will.

Watch the Introduction

Before you try to change again, ask why the old pattern keeps winning.

A short introduction to the iLifeChange Experiment, the 40-day process, and why genuine change has to reach deeper than advice, goals, or emotional intensity.

The quiet wound

The most painful failures are not caused by ignorance.

It is one thing to fail because you did not know. It is another thing to fail after you knew. That is the quieter wound.

A person can know the good, admire the good, speak about the good, and still find himself living beneath it by Tuesday afternoon. He knows he should be more disciplined, but the old comfort still calls. He knows he should speak with patience, but irritation arrives first. He knows he should give attention to what matters, but the day is swallowed by noise.

This is why ordinary self-improvement often disappoints. It assumes the problem is information. But many people already have information. The deeper problem is that something underneath their choices has not yet been re-formed.

The old pattern

The old pattern does not need permission.

It only needs to be left alone. Another year can pass with new intentions, new notes, new plans, and the same hidden loop still intact.

A person begins again. For a few days, there is seriousness. Then pressure returns: a bad night of sleep, a difficult email, a family irritation, a bodily appetite, a private anxiety, a little discouragement. And the old life quietly regains authority.

Not all at once. By small permissions. By delay, distraction, self-excuse, and the familiar thought: “Just today.” The danger is not merely that a habit remains unchanged. The danger is that a person slowly loses trust in his own promises.

Before a life can be re-ordered, motivation itself must be examined.

The deeper question

What if the real issue is not effort?

Most advice tells a person what to do: set the goal, build the habit, remove the distraction, get accountable, and try harder. There is truth in some of this. But there is also something missing.

Why does the person still resist the thing he says he wants? Why does the lower pleasure often feel more real than the higher good? Why does the same person who sees clearly in one moment bargain against himself in the next?

These questions point deeper. They point toward the hidden map of happiness that governs our choices. They point toward the inner formation of desire, attention, judgement, imagination, and will. They point toward the real work of iLifeChange.

The full explanation matters. It is why we created the More Info page.

The four powers

Human change depends on powers most people barely train.

There are powers in the human person that can interrupt automatic life: the power to see what is true, to imagine a better form of life, to notice what is happening before obeying it, and to choose the good when something lower pulls in another direction.

These are not small things. They are the powers by which a human being becomes responsible. iLifeChange is built around the deliberate strengthening of these four powers.

Reason

To see more clearly.

The faculty that helps a person discern what is true, worthy, and good.

Imagination

To envision what is higher.

The faculty that allows a person to see a better form of life as possible and desirable.

Awareness

To notice before obeying.

The faculty that helps a person see what is moving within before being carried by it.

Will

To choose the good.

The faculty by which a person acts toward what is higher, even under pressure.

The More Info page explains why these four powers matter and why they are central to the whole experiment.

The 40 days

Forty days is long enough for honesty to begin.

A short burst of motivation is easy. A few inspired days prove very little. The real test is what happens when ordinary life returns.

That is why the iLifeChange Experiment runs for 40 days. Over the course of the experiment, participants enter a guided process of teaching, reflection, exercise, and mental-spiritual formation.

You are not simply consuming ideas. You are asked to look at the motives, pleasures, fears, assumptions, and patterns that have been quietly governing your choices. The aim is to begin noticing what is moving you before the old pattern takes over again.

Who this is for

This is for people who are tired of shallow change.

iLifeChange is for serious adults who know that another burst of motivation will not be enough. It is for the person who has collected enough insight to know that insight alone does not save him.

It is for the person tired of beginning again with no deeper change in the system underneath. It is for the person who can admit, without theatre, that something in him must be re-ordered.

This may especially speak to leaders and founders, counsellors and educators, mentors and guides, serious self-actualizers, people who work with human change, and people who know they are living beneath what they see.

This is the wrong place for dopamine motivation or quick tricks. It is the wrong place for someone who wants change without examination. But if you are tired of knowing the good and not choosing it, this experiment may belong to you.

Why this work exists

This work began with a question I could not leave alone.

Why do human beings so often fail to do the good they already know? That question has stayed with me for years.

It is too thin to say, “People are lazy.” It is too thin to say, “People need better information.” It is too thin to say, “People just need motivation.” That only pushes the question one step back: what motivates motivation?

At the root of change is motivation. At the root of motivation is our lived belief about happiness. And at the root of that belief is the formation of the person himself.

This is why iLifeChange does not begin with productivity tricks, emotional excitement, or external pressure. It begins deeper. The full argument is set out on the More Info page. That is where the real light-bulb moment begins.

The event

Join the next iLifeChange Experiment.

The next iLifeChange Experiment begins on 14 October 2026. This is a live online 40-day intensive hosted by John Angheli.

Because this work is offered through a non-profit mission, the ticket price has been kept accessible relative to the depth of the experience.

Most people will spend another year repeating the same motivational loop. They will start again, drift again, promise again, explain it away again, and then wonder why nothing substantial changed.

The iLifeChange Experiment is for those who want to interrupt that pattern at the root.

Begin the experiment

Do not merely talk about change. Train for it.

The deepest changes in life do not come from intensity alone. They come from re-forming the powers by which we notice, judge, imagine, choose, and live.

The iLifeChange Experiment

The purpose is to make the good more visible, more desirable, and more chooseable in ordinary life. It is for those who want to move from a life pulled by old patterns toward a life directed by truth, beauty, goodness, and being.
